AI: Efficiency, Reliability, and Its Future
AI: Efficiency, Reliability, and Its Future
The astonishing advent of artificial intelligence has spread rapidly across the world impacting various industries such as finance, education, healthcare, autonomous technology, military planning and many more. Tech giants such as Microsoft and Meta have been investing enormous amounts of money in building data centers for AI. The demand for semiconductors is ever increasing.
Its proven practicality has also helped me create documents easily without having much knowledge about how they should be written. Based on my instructions regarding content and style, AI can instantly generate sentences and can even produce complete documents. All I have to do is copy, paste and add small adjustments, which contributes to saving my time.
Some may wonder whether the created language is reliable for official use. Are there errors in translation or numbers that are calculated incorrectly? These are crucial questions to be asked when using AI-generated data since AI is not infallible. Therefore, human review is necessary to ensure the accuracy of the results. Even so, considering the time to scrutinize outputs from AI, it is far quicker to get the work done than doing it on our own. By using AI at work, I have realized that it cannot process large amounts of data at one time. In such cases, I divide the original data into small pieces. Then, I can let AI do the rest of the work.
As I have stated earlier AI is not almighty, its outputs are not always perfect. Therefore, it’s critical to keep in mind that there might be some shortcomings. There are many more issues associated with the use of AI especially from an ethical perspective such as copyright infringement, the collection of private data from social media, maliciously created sexual images or videos of celebrities, and military operations leading to mass destruction without human control.
It is an urgent task to set a global standard for safe AI use. Discussions are already underway, and global leaders are tackling this challenge with their full efforts. As we have experienced already, AI technology is a kind of innovation that changes the course of our lives rapidly. Soon, we will have more advanced AI. The demand for properly handling AI will ever increase as we enter the new era of AI technology. Is our future with AI going to be bright or doomed? Whether our society becomes more prosperous ultimately depends on how we approach coexisting with AI technology grounded in ethical considerations.
